Cookies Policy

Last Updated: April 23, 2026

This Cookies Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels, embedded third-party content) are used on this website, why we use them, how long they last and how you can accept, reject or revoke your consent at any time. It is complementary to our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and embedded third-party content that can set or read identifiers in your browser. Throughout this policy the term "cookies" covers all of these technologies unless stated otherwise.

2. Categories we use

We classify the technologies on this site into two categories. Only the first one is strictly necessary; the rest depends on your consent.

2.1 Strictly necessary

These are needed for the website to work and for you to use its features. They do not require consent under applicable law.

  • Consent storage: we save your cookie preferences in your browser's local storage under the key "icosium_cookie_consent" so we do not ask you again on every visit. This information stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.

2.2 Performance measurement (requires consent)

Only loaded if you accept the "Performance measurement" category in the cookie banner.

  • Vercel Speed Insights: provided by Vercel Inc. to measure loading performance (Core Web Vitals) and improve the site. Vercel's documentation states that it does not use cookies and that data is aggregated and anonymised.

3. Embedded third-party content

Some parts of the site rely on external providers. These connections are only established after you grant consent, either globally in the banner or locally where the content is shown.

  • Google Maps (Google LLC): the contact page can embed a Google Maps view. The map is blocked by default and is only loaded after you either accept the "Performance measurement" category in the banner or click "Load map" next to the placeholder. Loading the map establishes a connection with Google's servers and may transfer data (including your IP) to Google, which may store it outside the European Union.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (Cloudflare, Inc.): used on the contact form to protect against automated abuse. It may set technical storage required for the security check to work. As a security measure it is treated as strictly necessary when the contact form is used.

4. No analytics, no advertising, no profiling

This website does not use behavioural analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Plausible or Hotjar), does not run advertising tags (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads) and does not profile visitors.

5. How long do these technologies last?

  • Consent preference: stored in local storage until you clear it manually or until your browser removes it. There is no predefined expiration.
  • Performance measurement: according to Vercel, no cookies are set. Any storage used is session-scoped.
  • Google Maps: the cookies Google may set when the map is loaded are controlled by Google and described in their own privacy notices.

6. How to accept, reject or revoke consent

The first time you visit the site a cookie banner lets you accept all categories, reject all non-necessary categories or customise your choice per category. You can change your decision at any time by clearing your browser storage for this domain; the next time you visit the site the banner will appear again.

In addition, most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to stop working as expected.

7. Third-party policies

  • Vercel (Speed Insights): https://vercel.com/docs/speed-insights/privacy-policy
  • Google Maps: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://developers.google.com/maps/terms-20180207
  • Cloudflare (Turnstile): https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

8. Relationship with the Privacy Policy

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies. Any processing of personal data that takes place as a result (for example, data transferred to Google when the map is loaded) is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy.

9. Updates

We may update this Cookies Policy when we change the technologies used on the site or when legal requirements evolve. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
